"Through my zeal for exploration and the human connection, I seek out experiences and wisdom to share with others, and in that sharing, create a community that propagates happiness."
In 2000, Courtney began practicing yoga in Australia to recover from a running injury. Amazed with the results she began experimenting with many styles of yoga including Astanga, Iyengar, Synergy, Jivamutki and general Hatha, however she always came back to the Astanga style for its strength, flow and tradition. After providing daily yoga sessions to surfers in Spain, she decided to go for a teaching certificate. In 2006 she completed the 200hr training and was awarded a Yoga Teacher certificate in the Astanga style from Brian Cooper at Union Yoga in Edinburgh, Scotland. Courtney's classes follow the Astanga Primary Series of asanas and focus on the breath and flowing movements of this style of yoga. She enjoys showing students how yoga can enhance and complement their performance in many sports and other outdoor activities such as snowboarding, skiing, biking, hiking. www.thugyoga.com
